1. Create a BitMEX account

If you already have a BitMEX account, you can skip this step and go directly to step 2.

To use Blackquant solution on BitMEX, a BitMEX account with verified identity is required.

2. Fund your BitMEX account

BitMEX proposes two different methods to fund your wallet :

  • Buy cryptocurrency directly from BitMEX website

  • Deposit cryptocurrency from external crypto wallets

  • Click on wallet icon in top right corner, then click on Bitcoin deposit icon

A deposit popup window will appear with your deposit address

Proceed to transfer via your prefered app using the correct deposit address

Warning : Please make sure that you only transfer Bitcoin to this address

If you want to deposit other cryptocurrencies on BitMEX such as ETH or USDT, it is possible but you will need to convert it in Bitcoin from BitMEX trading platform to have Bitcoin in your account

Note : On BitMEX, the ticker for Bitcoin currency is "XBT", whereas in several other plateforms this currency is usually named with the ticker "BTC".

You can safely send BTC to your BitMEX XBT wallet. The currency is identical.

3. Create API Key

To communicate between your BitMEX wallet and our system, API keys are necessary.

  • Click on account icon in top right corner than select "API Keys" tab in drop down menu

In API Keys panel, fill the following parameters :

  • In "Name" field, type name of your choice for your API key, for example "blackquant"

  • In "CIDR" field, leave it empty

  • In "Key Permissions" field, select "Order"

  • In "Withdraw" field, leave it empty

  • In "Two-Factor Token" field, type designated code from your favorite Authentificator app

  • Click on "Create API Key" to complete creation

Once created, please store your Public API key and your Secret API key in a safe place. You will need to copy both keys later on in your Blackquant dashboard.

Important : if you tick the withdrawals field, funds can be withdrawn through API key. It is highly recommanded to never tick withdrawal option to any API keys.

4. Configure your Blackquant account

  • Find the best subscription package based on your needs :

  • Process to checkout to confirm signup

You need to be logged in to see "My account" page

In your Blackquant "My account" page, set the following parameters :

  • Exchange, select "BitMEX"

  • Public API Key : Enter your BitMEX Public API Key

  • API Secret : Enter your Secret BitMEX API Key

  • Allocation : set % allocation of portfolio used by the robot. Default value is 100%.

At any time, you can update allocation parameter. All settings are read continuously by our software. If allocation has been modified during an ongoing trade, position size will be updated accordingly.

5. Verification

Under "My account" page, go to "Dashboard" section

Make sure the field “API Connectivity” displays “Connected.” status.

Otherwise, check your exchange API keys again.

Initial connectivity test can take several minutes.

First trades (if any) will appear within <15 minutes on your exchange if you are correctly connected.

6. Congratulations

Your account is now fully operational and already generating profits for you.
