Bybit offers the possibility to use either USDT as collateral or other cryptocurrencies (i.e. BTC).
This means customers can decide if they hold USDT in their Bybit wallet, or if they want to hold various crypto assets on top of their Blackquant trades.
Using USDT as collateral (Standard Bybit trading account), Blackquant customers will accumulate more and more USDT.
Using crypto assets as collateral, Blackquant customers will accumulate more and more USDT on top of their existing crypto assets (i.e. BTC)
Find more information on the link below to know more about differences between Standard account and Unified Trading account on Bybit :
Please select the tutorial of your choice based on the collateral you would like to use.
If you already have a Bybit account, you can skip this step and go directly to step 2.
If you don’t have a Bybit account, go to the official Bybit website or use our referral link to get a 10% discount on trading fees for 6 months.
Bybit allows two different methods to fund your wallet :
Buy cryptocurrencies directly from Bybit website
Deposit cryptocurrencies from external wallets
You can deposit the cryptocurrency that you prefer but then you must convert it in USDT.
Blackquant system will only read your USDT Balance to open trading positions. Other currencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and others will not be read by the system. The balance of those assets will be ignored and won't be used to open positions.
Blackquant solution is using a protocol called API connectivity to communicate and trigger orders on your Bybit account.
To enable this feature, API keys are necessary :
1. Click on account icon in top right corner
2. Select "API Keys" tab in drop down menu
In API management tab, create a new API key :
Click on "Create New Key"
Click on "System-generated API Keys"
In API key panel, select the following parameters :
1.Select "API Transaction"
2. In "Name" field, type name of your choice for your API key, for example "blackquant"
3. API Permissions, select "Read-Write" and "No IP restriction"
4. Trade : Tick "Unified Trading". It will tick automatically all required boxes
6. Click on "Submit" button
After clicking on "Submit", a popup window will appear to complete authentication for the API key creation.
Please complete required steps.
Once your Bybit API keys is created, store your Public API key and your Secret API key in a safe place. You will be asked to paste it in your Blackquant dashboard in the next step.
Your API Secret will be visible only once in Bybit dashboard. Make sure to save it somewhere.
If you have lost it, you can recreate a second Bybit API key.
Go to Blackquant website :
In Blackquant settings, set the following parameters :
Exchange : Select "Bybit" from the list
Public API Key : Enter your Bybit Public API Key
Secret API Key : Enter your Bybit Secret API Key
Trading Allocation : Define which % of your wallet you want the system to trade. Default value is set at 100%
Click on "Save" button
At any time, you can update your parameters.
All settings are read continuously by our software. If allocation has been modified during an ongoing trade, position size will be updated accordingly.
Once all fields from step n°4 are filled, Blackquant system will then connect automatically after few minutes.
The connectivity status should display "Connected" on your blackquant dashboard.
Not connected ? Double check your API Keys or make sure the permissions are correct. Still not connected ? Send us a message on Telegram. We will be pleased to help you.
